Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This intersection of a back road and hiking trail looked busy enough to be a superhighway on a particularly dry summer day. There were auto and bicycle tire tracks, boot tracks, and those of the local residents - deer, bear and racoon - in a jumble of overlapping directions.
About Denise Dethlefsen
I am from a family with many artistic talents - drawing and painting, cartooning, music and writing. But until I received my first SLR camera as an anniversary gift from my husband several years ago, I had not found an artistic form I was comfortable with. I find an almost instinctive creativity when I look through the viewfinder, but the precision involved in experimenting with composition, depth of field, range of view, motion and so forth seems to satisfy the logical side of my brain as well. Having lived in northern California, and now living in Colorado affords many opportunities for beautiful natural photographs, while giving me opportunities to experiment with the graphical and abstract forms also found in ordinary subjects.
