About Denise Dethlefsen
I am from a family with many artistic talents - drawing and painting, cartooning, music and writing. But until I received my first SLR camera as an anniversary gift from my husband several years ago, I had not found an artistic form I was comfortable with. I find an almost instinctive creativity when I look through the viewfinder, but the precision involved in experimenting with composition, depth of field, range of view, motion and so forth seems to satisfy the logical side of my brain as well. Having lived in northern California, and now living in Colorado affords many opportunities for beautiful natural photographs, while giving me opportunities to experiment with the graphical and abstract forms also found in ordinary subjects.

I see there are many different photographers of Redwoods on this site. I am only familiar with those of Denise Dethlefsen. So my former comment pertains to her photos. I especially like the pink flowers in the left foreground of "Redwoods in Fog". They add just the right amount of contrasting color to the greens and browns of the picture. I can look at the picture and feel the stresses of the day ebb. And I do recommend the cards from Fine Art America.

I found all of the Redwood pictures to be peaceful and relaxing I ordered cards of various pictures and the cards are high quality and can be used for a variety of situations. I have used 'Redwoods in Fog' as a sympathy card, as well as just a letter. I believe the picture would be wonderful on a wall as well.
